A Creative Outlet for Grieving Families of All Ages

Categories: Blog, children's grief, grief and loss

Get creative with your grief. You’ve heard before that everyone grieves differently, but what does this mean? The grief journey is a deeply personal time in one’s life and each person will express their feelings in their own way. Midland Care reaches out to people in a variety of venues to help them come to terms with their loss and find healthy productive ways to move forward during this difficult time.

On July 25, Midland Care is hosting a Family Evening 6-8pm, to offer families a time to come together and create a visual memorial in remembrance of their loved one through the use of acrylic paints.

All art supplies will be provided and ready for use, as a professionally trained artist will be present to offer guidance as you create a painting representing something that reminds you of your loved one. Some options include pictures of sunsets, fireworks, flowers, fishing, water scenes, golf, etc. Bring your own ideas or collaborate with our creative team to come up with something unique and special for you.

$10 donation per person is requested to help pay for supplies.

Please call Sherry Combs at 785-232-2044 or email her at scombs@midlandcc.org if you have any additional questions or would like to register.
