Tony Rubbo, General Sales Manager, said, “We were very excited to present a check for over $10,000 to the Meals on Wheels program. It was a goal of ours this year to actually double what we did the prior year. The people who bought new Subaru’s helped support this program for our community. Subaru and Briggs have a very strong partnership, to help put money back out into the community. The money stays here in Topeka. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
Shawn Sullivan, President/CEO of Midland Care, accepted the check and was grateful to receive the donation.
“We are very grateful to receive a generous donation from Briggs Subaru to help support our Meals on Wheels program. We are very appreciative of them, to their staff, and their consumers who have purchased cars from them to help with this.”
Sullivan continued, “Meals on Wheels is a huge need in our community. It is a community supported program. We rely heavily on donations and also on volunteers, and we need both. Briggs Subaru has generously provided both in the past, and again this year.”
In closing Sullivan added, “This donation will directly go to help those who need a hot and nutritious meal delivered to their home.”
