Dan Foltz Named Honorary Chair for Midland Care Celebration Walk
Topeka, KS – April 13, 2016 – Local, not-for-profit health care provider Midland Care has selected Dan Foltz to serve as honorary chair for this year’s Celebration Walk, scheduled for May 13, 2016 from 6:00 PM to dusk at Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle in Topeka.
Honorary Chairman Dan Foltz, President of Topeka-based Critical Environment Construction firm KBS Constructors, Inc., kicked off a fundraising campaign at the Celebration Walk Breakfast on March 31, 2016 by announcing the event’s goals and extending an invitation to the community.
Foltz became a founding partner in KBS Constructors, Inc. in 1989. He has been heavily involved in community work, including service on the Kansas State University Construction Science Advisory Council, a past president of the Associated General Contractors of Kansas and a member of the Washburn University MBA Advisory Council. He has been a supporter of Midland Care for many years, serving as Chairman of the Board and in many other volunteer capacities.
The Celebration Walk is held one evening each year to honor loved ones who have died. Hundreds of local families attend annually to participate in free children’s activities, enjoy live music and release butterflies in memory of loved ones. The event is known for the thousands of luminaries lit at dusk across Midland Care’s 22-acre campus. The Celebration Walk is free and open to anyone in the community, including those who have never used Midland Care’s services or who are visiting campus for the first time. The event does not feature a scheduled or timed walk, but is an opportunity for the public to stroll Midland Care’s scenic campus.
Funds raised at the Celebration Walk support Midland Care’s mission, ensuring that the not-for-profit healthcare provider is able to serve anyone, regardless of ability to pay. Families who would like a luminary lit in honor of a loved one may purchase one for $10. Sponsorships are also available.
